When the Seminary Castigates... (Contribution)

Thurles, the temporary seminary where Joseph Ryan began his attempt at Holy Orders opened their vaults to reveal tough action taken against one of it's most controversial students in the days which precursed psychiatric assessments for those entering into their time of religious discernment. Yet in just a few academic weeks he was to be escorted off premises with the doors slamming firmly behind him for reasons no less than you would expect from a deviant of his kind.

From early days Joseph Ryan had developed an infatuation with several members of theological school and advanced himself sexually upon these individuals, both within student bathing and lavatory areas of the building, instigating the first formal complaint of its kind being brought before the Bishop and laid bare so to speak.

Complaints detailed how Ryan would expose himself sexually in washroom areas and at other inappropriate hours, would (unclothed) and in states of heightened sexual arousal disturb other students from their cells while acting suggestively causing a great deal of discomfort and embarrassment for his fellow seminarians.

As Ryan was kept under close supervision and monitored the final blow to his sordid ways came when in his second semester a group of electrical contractors were commissioned to revise an electrical circuit which served student quarters. As engineers worked within the building Ryan targeted one of them, a married man who rebuffed and protested quite objectionably to his sexual advances towards him the WC area.

The content of his complaint detailed how the young deviant Ryan exposed himself lewdly in the buildings toilet block and attempted to solicit the electrical engineer who was replacing an overhead fuse board, gesturing him into a stall by what seemed a masturbatory style expression. The worker exited with haste and reported the incident to the superiors at Thurles cementing Joseph Ryan's destiny never to become a priest which among other things lead to his instant dismissal and discharge.
